The Layne Project 4 Families, Inc. (4 Families) is a non-profit organization located in Olathe, KS, founded in 2024. 4 Families mission is to protect childhoods by supporting families through parental separation in our community and beyond. We do this by offering a comprehensive, trauma-informed, and child-focused services to families, regardless of their financial situation.
The number "4" in 4 Families symbolizes the foundation and stability that families provide to children, as well as the core pillars of our work: education, emotional well-being, conflict resolution, and support. These elements are seamlessly integrated into our programs, offering comprehensive support to families in need. By focusing on these pillars, we aim to create a strong, stable foundation that helps families navigate the challenges of high-conflict situations and build a brighter future.

our story
With nearly 25 years of experience as a social worker, attorney, and leader in family support services, Trina A. Nudson has dedicated her career to creating innovative solutions that empower parents and protect children. She holds a Juris Doctor degree and is a Licensed Bachelor Social Worker (LBSW), bringing a unique blend of legal expertise and social work practice to her work with families. Trina is also a certified divorce coach, mediator, parenting coordinator, concilliator and domestic case manager.
As the founder of both The Layne Project, Inc and The Layne Project 4 Families, Trina’s work is driven by a deep commitment to making high-quality family support accessible to all. Under her leadership, The Layne Project has become a leader in co-parenting education, providing training and resources to professionals who help families navigate difficult transitions.
Recognizing that financial barriers prevent many families from accessing these critical services, Trina founded The Layne Project 4 Families— designed to extend the reach of these services to all families, regardless of their financial situation. Through this unique model, The Layne Project 4 Families acquired the services of The Layne Project, Inc. honed over nearly twenty years of business, ensuring that no family is left behind and that every child has the opportunity to thrive in a supportive environment.

Her extensive background, coupled with her passion for family advocacy, makes her a trusted and compassionate leader in the field.

His 12-year partnership with The Layne Project was instrumental in developing a comprehensive software system to manage and schedule services for clients, seamlessly integrating with accounting systems. Randy’s extensive background includes founding two successful software companies—Bradley Software, focusing on legal software for divorce financials and child support, and CrewTracker Software, specializing in ERP systems for the snow removal and lawn care industry. With over two decades as the Director of Engineering and Pricing Systems at Butler Manufacturing Company, Randy’s international experience spans Saudi Arabia, Scotland, China, and Brazil, bringing a global perspective to our mission.

Beyond her professional achievements, Erin has been a dedicated leader in the dance community, serving as the National 1st Vice President of Dance Masters of America. Under her leadership, Dance Expressions has been ranked as one of the top 5 studios in Kansas and has been featured in Dance Studio Life magazine.
